Choosing in this range
5cm for cleaning, 10cm for covering
The smaller swab suits wiping and cleaning around a wound. The 10cm is what you want under a bandage or for absorbing.
Non-woven lints less than cotton
Four-ply non-woven fabric leaves fewer fibres in the wound bed than traditional cotton gauze.
Gauze is not a dressing on its own
A swab has no adhesive. Hold it in place with tape or an adhesive dressing over the top.
Sterile until the sachet is opened
Swabs come individually sealed. Open one at a time rather than decanting the box.
